RB LE'VEON BELL (PIT)
There have been rumors that DeAngelo Williams has played himself into some serious carries after his stellar start, but that doesn’t concern us. Some people are worried about playing against that Rams d-line, but Matt Jones and Alfred Morris sure weren’t scared. Some people don’t like to start players after a long time off (looking at you AP) but this kid is an absolute stud. He’s 23 years old, 6’1 240 lbs of juke moves and stiff arms. He’s on the most explosive offenses in the NFL and he’s an absolute must start.
WR BRANDON MARSHALL (NYJ)
He’s been on a tear and the Eagles have allowed the most fantasy points to receivers since the start of last season. He’s had great rapport with Fitz, who seems to look for Brandon when things get dicey. Marshall is a high end WR2, borderline WR1 this week, especially with injuries to Eric Decker and Chris Owusu.
QB CAM NEWTON (CAR)
No o-line? No WRs? No problem! Cam put up 26 points vs. the strong Texans D, the Saints don’t seem to stand a chance. What’s better than a QB throwing TDs….a QB getting rushing TDs. Cam has 3 career rushing touchdowns in his four career home games vs. NO.
RB ARIAN FOSTER (HOU)
We still don’t have confirmation on whether he’ll sit or play….but if he steps on the field this week, have him on your bench. The guy is a freak of nature who can come back from awful injuries, time and time again….. but the first week back from a surgically repaired groin just doesn’t sound appetizing (I don’t think I could write an article with a torn groin.)
WR ANDRE JOHNSON (IND)
To anyone who thought he’d steal Hilton’s WR1 status (me), you were wrong. In two weeks combined he’s put up a pathetic single week stat line: 7 rec. 52yds 0TDs. He’s lost more than just a step since his Texans days, he’s lost his football talent.
QB SAM BRADFORD (PHI)
This might be your last chance to hop off the Bradford bandwagon before it breaks down. After last weeks debacle vs. Dallas Chip Kelly said every position is now being evaluated. That doesn’t bode well for Sam, who has to face the Jet’s STOUT defense. If Andrew Luck threw 3 INTs, imagine what Sam’s going to do….
WAIVER WIRE WARRIOR
RB DAVID JOHNSON (ARI)
The lack of touches are concerning but this kid sure can score. 3 TDs in two games, and they’re diversified (rushing, receiving, kick return). Arians has nothing but great things to say about him and was quoted saying “David will have a bigger role each week.” The 6’1” 225lbs. RB is much more durable than Andre Ellington and CJ once 2K looks like a shell of himself. Expect Arizona to use him much like the Bears use Matt Forte as both a back and receiver out of the backfield. Pick up Johnson if you can - you could be looking at a fantasy stud come week 8.
